Terrible movie though the only part of that film that I did like is the stuff between Kate Winslet and Eli Wallach. That itself alone could’ve been a great movie though I didn’t mind Jack Black a bit.
Agreed about Winslet and Wallach — far as I’m concerned the whole bit with Diaz/Law could have been left on the cutting room floor. I didn’t mind Jack Black as a love interest, either; he’s a far more idiosyncratic choice than Jude Law!
Winslet is like aggie Gyllenhaal in the way she makes every movie she’s in — no matter how bad the movie might be — better.
I’d be jumping for joy too if I live in a house like that 😀 Agree w/ you about Diaz, Meredith… I pretty much only enjoy the Kate’s parts in the movie. Rufus makes for a charming bad boy, too.
This is exactly what I mean when I say that I will watch anything WInslet is in. Sure I waited for it to be on cable, but I still endured it for her sake.
